2018 Summer Children’s Series Performances at Sugar Sand Park’s Willow Theatre

Get out of the heat this summer with some cool family-friendly performances at Sugar Sand Park Community Center. The Willow Theatre presents its 2018 Summer Children’s Series that will entertain the entire family:



·         June 10 – THE WIZARD OF OZ  presented by Curtain Call Playhouse      Adapted from L. Frank Baum’s tale, this timeless classic story brings to life all the wonderful characters you’ve grown to love…Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Woodman, Cowardly Lion, the Good Witch, and of course, the Wicked Witch. When Dorothy lands in Oz, she looks for a way to get back home to Kansas. With some favorite songs, we follow Dorothy’s adventure to seek help from the Wonderful Wizard of Oz!  Shows at 11am and 2pm.  Rated G


·         July 1 – BEAUTY & THE BEAST presented by Bright Star Theatre      Lenny and Mabel, “the greatest actors in the world,” bring all of the classic characters to life in this heartwarming tale that shows that true beauty is on the inside. See why this fairy tale has been enchanting audiences since 1740.  Shows at 11am and 2pm.  Rated G


·         August 6 – CHICKEN LITTLE: AN APPALACHIAN MUSICAL JAMBOREE presented by Atlantic Coast Theatre for Youth Chicken Little may be small, but she has a big imagination. Come along on her journey to warn everyone that “The Sky Is Falling!” This original musical is filled with toe-tapping mountain music, live instruments, and lively comic characters.  Shows at 11am and 2pm.  Rated G


·         September 23 – THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW presented by Bright Star Theatre      Often called “America’s first work of fiction” this literary classic is a long-time crowd favorite! Join bumbling Ichabod Crane, beautiful Katrina Van Tassel, and the bully Brom Bones as they bring to life this Washington Irving tale.  Shows at 11am and 2pm.  Rated G


Each child’s ticket includes one free carousel ride token and cookies & juice served in the lobby after each performance.  Tickets for all of these performances are $8 for adults and $6 for children 12 & under.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.  Tickets can be purchased at the Willow Theatre Box Office at Sugar Sand Park Community Center, by calling 561-347-3948, or online at: www.willowtheatre.org.  The Willow Theatre is located at 300 S.
