Animal Care & Control Needs Public’s Help to Solve Animal Cruelty Crime

On Friday, July 21, at approximately 5:20 p.m., a 3-month-old kitten was thrown out of a car window on the I-95 northbound ramp off Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach.

A good Samaritan witnessed the horrific act, stopped rush-hour traffic and managed to rescue the kitten before it was injured further.

The kitten, now affectionately known as Summer, is in stable but critical condition under the care of veterinary staff at Palm Beach County Animal Care & Control. She will need orthopedic surgery to fix a fractured femur.

Investigators at PBC Animal Care & Control are asking the public to please report any information regarding this crime. A description of the vehicle involved or license plate number will assist investigators with finding the person(s) responsible.
