Boca Speaker Series Announced

Congregation B’nai Israel (CBI)an inclusive Reform congregation in Boca Raton with a membership of nearly 1,000 families, announced plans for this season’s Speaker Series, which will be held at the Cohen/Friedkin Sanctuary at Congregation B’nai Israel, 2200 Yamato Road, Boca Raton.

Speakers announced thus far include:

September 7, 2017, 7:00 p.m. A Conversation with Robert Watson, author of The Nazi Titanic: The Incredible Untold Story of a Doomed Ship in World War II. Watson will discuss some of the forgotten history of the Holocaust, including a diabolical propaganda plan hatched by Hitler, Goebbels and Himmler during the chaotic final days of the Holocaust that involved a famous Nazi ship.  After the talk, there will be a dessert reception and book signing in the Zimmerman Family North Social Hall. 

March 20, 2018, 7:00 p.m.  A Conversation with David Dalin, author of Jewish Justices of the Supreme Court.  Dalin will discuss the lives, legal careers and legacy of the eight Jews who have served or who currently serve as justices of the U.S. Supreme Court. Dalin will talk about the relationship the Jewish justices have had with the presidents who appointed them and the role that anti-Semitism played in each justice’s confirmation battles.
