The City of Boynton Beach Recreation and Parks Department’s Senior Center, 1021 S. Federal Highway, is proud to feature a new 5-piece live band every Wednesday from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.

You will be delighted by the sounds of the PALMAIRES, playing cool and soft music from the Great American Songbook, including standards, pop and big band swing and jazz. Admission is free for members and $2 for non-members. Come enjoy an afternoon of dancing and fun!

Palm Beach Driving Club™ (PBDC) is a members-only club offering weekly, year-round track programs to automotive enthusiasts exclusively at Palm Beach International Raceway™ (PBIR). With four distinct levels of membership, the Club allows each driver to tailor the program to fit their lifestyle. The club’s membership is made up of drivers of all levels of experience with a desire for practice sessions under the guidance of Resident Pro Driver Shane Lewis. His race resume includes numerous victories include prestigious races in the American Le Mans Series, the European Le Mans Series, the Rolex Sports Car Series, 24 Hours and 6 Hours of Nürburgring, and the SCCA World Challenge. PBDC operates as an affiliate of PBIR and is part of the IRG Sports + Entertainment™ (IRG) family of companies.

RIPPERS KNITTING CLUB OFFERED WEEKLY AT CIVIC CENTER

Knitting is a great hobby! Join the Rippers Knitting Club and meet other needle crafters of all skill levels.  Fees are $10 per season and a registration form must be completed on your first visit.

COUPLES ROUND DANCING

The City of Boynton Beach Recreation and Parks Department’s Civic Center, 128 E. Ocean Avenue, is once again offering Couples Round Dancing for ages 18 and older. This class on Tuesdays consists of choreographed dancing for couples. Learn figures & routines to various rhythms such as the Waltz, Swing & Foxtrot.

Beginner classes are held on Tuesdays from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Learn steps and some short routines for a wedding, anniversary party or cruise! Fun, beginner rhythms such as the Waltz, Cha Cha, Rumba, Tango and Swing will be taught.

Advanced classes are also held on Tuesdays from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m.  This class is for couples who want to extend their dance routines, learning more rhythms and figures and it is for experienced dancers who have had other classes.

Sunset Social Farmstands

CityPlace is turning the concept of a traditional daytime farmers market on its head with the launch of a new weekly market called Sunset Social Farmstands. WOODCARVER’S CLUB

For instance, every Friday the Boynton Beach Woodcarvers meet and work on projects from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  The Senior Center offers basic tools for beginners and the cost is only $2 per session.  You won’t believe how fun and easy it is to make beautiful wooden birds and other works of art!

COAST GUARD AUXILIARY SAFE BOATING CLASSES OFFERED

The Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 5-4 is offering Safe Boating classes to the public. Programs are held at the Harvey E. Oyer, Jr. Park, 2010 N. Federal Highway, on the last Saturday of each month. U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Safe Boating Programs provide instruction to boaters at all levels. The program starts at 8:00 a.m. and will satisfy the Florida Department of Natural Resources Boating Operation Requirements.

The cost is $36, which includes materials. Topics include Navigation, Trailering, Anchoring, Safety, Seamanship, Line handling, Laws, and Docking.  Contact Ron Cuneo at 561-389-1850 to reserve a seat.

WHO:  Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts
WHAT:  Auditions for the Magnifique Winter Intensive will be held at the Kravis Center on Sunday, Nov. 26, from 1-3:30 p.m. Students who are selected will participate in the Magnifique Winter Intensive, Jan 2-6, to train with ballet dancers and instructors from France in the pure tradition of l’Ecole Francaise (the French School).

Founded by Jean-Hugues Feray, former principal dancer with many international companies, including Ballet Florida and National Ballet de Marseille, the Magnifique Winter Intensive will feature faculty including Charles Jude, former star of the Paris Opera Ballet and now artistic director of the Ballet de l’Opera National de Bordeaux; Muriel Maffre, former dancer with the Hamburg Ballet, Monte-Carlo Ballet and San Francisco Ballet; Olivier Pardina, former principal dancer with the Nice Opera House, Bejart Ballet and a principal teacher with the Miami City Ballet School and Stephanie Roublot, former dancer with Ballet de Nancy and now a principal dancer with the Ballet de l’Opera National de Bordeaux.
