OUTLOOK CLUB FOR THE BLIND

Federal Highway, presents a socializing opportunity for the visually impaired every Thursday at 9 a.m.  It’s a great way to meet new people, enjoy morning coffee together, and participate in a fun craft project! The weekly Outlook Club for the Visually Impaired is ongoing throughout the year.

RIPPERS KNITTING CLUB OFFERED WEEKLY AT CIVIC CENTER

The City of Boynton Beach Recreation and Parks Department’s Civic Center, 128 E. Ocean Avenue, is offering a summer knitting group for adults on Thursdays. Hours are 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. through August 6.

Knitting is a great hobby! Join the Rippers Knitting Club and meet other needle crafters of all skill levels.  Fees are $10 per season and a registration form must be completed on your first visit.

COUPLES ROUND DANCING

The City of Boynton Beach Recreation and Parks Department’s Civic Center, 128 E. Ocean Avenue, is once again offering Couples Round Dancing for ages 18 and older. This class on Tuesdays consists of choreographed dancing for couples. Learn figures & routines to various rhythms such as the Waltz, Swing & Foxtrot.

Beginner classes are held on Tuesdays from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Learn steps and some short routines for a wedding, anniversary party or cruise! Fun, beginner rhythms such as the Waltz, Cha Cha, Rumba, Tango and Swing will be taught.

Advanced classes are also held on Tuesdays from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m.  This class is for couples who want to extend their dance routines, learning more rhythms and figures and it is for experienced dancers who have had other classes.

WOODCARVER’S CLUB

Are you bored? Join friends at the Boynton Beach Recreation and Parks Department’s Senior Center, 1021 S. Federal Highway. There are daily activities for seniors and numerous clubs. For instance, every Friday the Boynton Beach Woodcarvers meet and work on projects from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  The Senior Center offers basic tools for beginners and the cost is only $2 per session.  You won’t believe how fun and easy it is to make beautiful wooden birds and other works of art!

3rd Annual Gold Ribbon Heroes Luncheon

Guests of the Gold Ribbon Heroes Luncheon will walk the gold carpet to celebrate the courage and resiliency of young cancer patients. These young cancer warriors will show off their style in videos of themselves sharing their hard-earned cancer wisdom. Event ambassador, Daniela, will share her inspiring cancer story. Emcee, Leslie Streeter, columnist at the Palm Beach Post, will keep us laughing with her wit. The auctions will have unique, fun items to bid on, including art by children fighting cancer. Guests will enjoy a delicious lunch. Sequins in Palm Beach is hosting a pre-sale on Thursday, March 16, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Nights at the Museum – “Sports Science!”

On the last Friday of each month, from 6-9pm, guests of all ages can enjoy extended hours of exploration at the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium. Each Night at the Museum is a different theme, which includes various interactive science crafts, activities, entertainment, exhibits, planetarium shows, and a chance to view the night sky in Palm Beach County’s only public observatory! Food and beverage from Wholesome Tummies Cafe will be available for purchase throughout the evening. This month’s event includes a hockey-physics lab, interactive sports demonstrations, exploration of the blockbuster traveling exhibit “Our Body: The Universe Within”, Girl Scout Badges and more!
