Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches hosts network for a cause event at Ruth’s Chris Steak House

Seagull Services will be the featured charitable partner of the Aug. 15 Network for a Cause event at Ruth’s Chris Steak House at 651 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach.

The networking series hosted by The Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches is designed to increase awareness of the needs that exist in the community and encourage involvement with the non-profits working to address those needs.

“It is our intention to promote and support our growing businesses while advocating for our local charities and nonprofits,” said Marissa Kosiec, Special Events Coordinator. “Each month, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the partnered charity.”

Seagull, a long-time member of the Chamber, provides advocacy and services for youth and adults with disabilities and their families and at the same time provides important workforce development and employment services for people who have various barriers to employment. Services include education, training, employment, residential services, community integration and support services. Its charter school, Seagull Academy for Independent Living (SAIL), serves students between 11 and 22 with significant intellectual disabilities that include significant learning challenges.

“We’re honored to be a part of Network for a Cause” and look forward to meeting many members and future members of the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches,” said Barbara Nurenberg, President and CEO of Seagull Services.

The Aug. 15 event takes place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Ruth’s Chris Steak House. Cost for members is $15 before close of business Aug. 8 or $20 after the deadline. Future members are $30. To register, contact Marissa Kosiec at [email protected] or visit www.palmbeaches.org.
