Bring your neighbors and join the Countywide Community Revitalization Team (CCRT) for a public meeting hosted by the Office of Community Revitalization (OCR) on Tuesday, March 20, beginning at 6 p.m.
The meeting at the Palm Beach County Lantana Road Branch Library will focus on school safety and recruiting, maintaining, motivating and rewarding neighborhood volunteers. The library is located at 4020 Lantana Road, Lake Worth.
Debra L. Robinson, M.D., vice chairwoman of the Palm Beach County School Board will share her views on how school shootings are changing education and engage meeting participants in a community conversation on how schools, parents and communities can prevent them and improve the overall safety for our children.
The agenda will also include an inspiring mini workshop titled, “Volunteerism and Volunteers: A Gift to the Community” facilitated by Joanna Aiken, Community Services coordinator with the Solid Waste Authority. This workshop will provide an overview of volunteerism and strategies that community leaders can use to engage, motivate and maintain neighborhood volunteers, as well as harness the potential of the youth volunteers.
This public meeting is an opportunity to join the conversation on school safety, learn about strategies, tips and technics to engage and maintain neighborhood volunteers, and network with county agencies, OCR partners, and other community leaders who, like yourself, are making a difference in their community.
