Cathy Balestriere, general manager of Crane’s Beach House Boutique Hotel & Luxury Villas, recently completed the next phase of a total, top-to-bottom upgrade by remodeling 13 suites and rooms in the property’s north building and replacing all furnishings in a total of 17 rooms. The new “coastal, contemporary” reimagining is already winning raves on TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site.
A visitor from Westhampton Beach, NY hailed the “beautiful upgrades… We love this place!”
Calling Crane’s “a little gem,” a guest from Venice, Italy praised the “great tropical setting. You really feel like you’re in Florida… The rooms are lovely and the staff are wonderful… I can’t imagine staying in a big hotel after discovering this place.”
And John M wrote, “The place is fabulous… (the clean, tidy) rooms were very spacious, handy for the beach, very close to shops, bars (and) restaurants. Would highly recommend it to anyone going to Delray Beach.”
The positive reaction from guests on TripAdvisor – where Crane’s Beach House has an overall rating of 4.5, with 72% giving it a grade of “excellent” and another 20% say “very good” — is why Balestriere thinks the hotel’s nearly $2.5 million remodeling cost so far has been well worth the investment.
“When we opened our four high tech luxury villas a few years ago, we raised the expectation level of our guests, so we have been diligently redesigning the rest of our 28 units ever since,” says Balestriere.
The latest upgrades include new furniture in all 14 suites, including specially built chairs, stylish consoles, and quilted headboards; plus, spacious flooring and modern, ocean-themed bathrooms with sand-colored wall tiles and spa-like showers with river-rock floors. Of course, many of the rooms also have convenient, fully functional kitchens.
“This is all part of Crane’s transformation from Old Key West, fun and funky, to coastal contemporary – still fun, but also more stylish and sophisticated,” adds Balestriere. “With our lush gardens and two swimming pools, staying at Crane’s is really like stepping into Paradise with your own private beach house.”
In addition, Crane’s Beach House fully remodeled the hotel’s north tiki bar and enhanced the south tiki bar, where a continental breakfast (bagels, pastries, cereals, fresh fruit, coffee, tea and freshly squeezed orange juice) is served daily. Located next to the hotel’s sandy beach swimming pool, the north tiki bar is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 5 to 9 pm, with live music on Friday and Saturday from 6 to 9 pm, where guests will be entertained by a rotating roster of talented local musicians, including David Itkin, Chucka Riddum, Bill Hartmann, the My Generation Band, Bryan Music, Adam Barnes, and more.
The hotel’s GM gives special credit to the staff at Crane’s, who were personally involved in every aspect of the ongoing redesign. As Mikey48 wrote on TripAdvisor, “Everybody is so friendly and quite obviously happy to be part of this team.”
“The quilted headboards were my idea,” chimes in Crane’s event coordinator Chris Therien. “We love our hotel, and we love pampering our guests.”
