In celebration of all things New Orleans, the South Florida Fair is hosting Fat Tuesday on both Tuesdays during the 2017 South Florida Fair. The first takes place tomorrow, Jan. 17.
Fairgoers can stroll their way through food booths sampling everything from a slice of cheese pizza, two beignets, a small Greek salad, a hot dog, two fried Oreos, a small king cake, a pair of pickle spears, and more – all for $2 each.
Then they can head to the midway, where most all the rides are only $2 each.
Fat Tuesday is the literal translation of Mardi Gras, perhaps the most famous celebration in New Orleans. Each day of the 2017 South Florida Fair, the fair’s own parade, complete with seven Mardi Gras-themed floats, rolls through the fairgrounds.
The South Florida Fair is produced by the South Florida Fair/Palm Beach County Expositions, Inc., a nonprofit organization. The 105th annual fair is being held Jan. 13-29, 2017 at the South Florida Fairgrounds, 9067 Southern Blvd., West Palm Beach.
