Friends of MODS presents “Black, White and Bond”

To celebrate the opening of the NEW James Bond film The Museum of Discovery and Science’s auxiliary group, Friends of MODS will host “Black, White and Bond” on Thursday night, November 5, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. featuring a special premiere screening of Spectre: The IMAX ® Experience

The price of admission to Black White and Bond includes access to the reception, complete with open bar and spy-themed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, silent auction, music, raffle prizes, plus entry to the AutoNation IMAX 3D Theater! Attendees are encouraged to dress the part in black and white cocktail attire.  000DAW_T-Rex

The cocktail reception will be followed by a screening of the highly anticipated, Spectre: The IMAX ® Experience, starring: Daniel Craig, Naomie Harris, Léa Seydoux, Ralph Fiennes and Christoph Waltz.  A cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.

Regular Seating tickets are $45 for Friends of MODS and Museum Members and for $55 non-members. VIP Preferred Seating Tickets are $60 for Members and $70 for non-members. The mission of Friends of MODS is to provide the Museum of Discovery and Science with financial support, volunteer service and community awareness. Through hands-on participation in fund raising events and volunteer opportunities they serve as goodwill ambassadors in the community in a social and engaging way.

In 2013 Friends of MODS launched the BFF Campaign. The BFF Campaign is an outreach and fundraising effort to provide youth development and specialized internship programs at MODS. These programs develop basic job skills, help discover career aptitudes, enrich STEM education and provide hands-on learning experiences for the underserved, special needs, and economically disadvantaged, high-achieving student populations. The mission of the Museum of Discovery and Science is to provide experiential pathways to lifelong learning in science for children and adults through exhibits, programs and films. Founded in 1976 as The Discovery Center, the nonprofit facility serves approximately 400,000 visitors annually. Major operational support for the Museum is provided through generous support by Leadership Guild members including: JM Family Enterprises, Inc., Broward Health, Sun Sentinel and Wells Fargo.

The Museum is open seven days a week, 365 days a year; Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. with extended IMAX® hours on most evenings.
