#GotMeat? – Huizenga Plaza becomes carnivores paradise at the 9th annual Riverwalk Burger Battle

On Friday, March 23, roughly a thousand hungry foodies gathered under the stars at Huizenga Plaza in downtown Fort Lauderdale to get their fill of red meat from some of South Florida’s finest burger bastions (Bokampers, Burger Craze, Gulfstream Park, Hard Rock Cafe Hollywood, JWB Prime Steak & Seafood, Metro Diner, Pelican Grand, Pincho Factory, ROK:BRGR, Tucker Duke’s.)

At this sizzling event, culinarians demonstrated their creativity and grilling skills in the quest for fame and glory. The evening’s festivities include a Burger Eating Contest, live music, cold beer, quality cocktails, refreshing wines and plenty of gourmet burger creations while raising funds to support the Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale’s mission of “building and nurturing a vibrant community connected by the New River.”

In addition to the unlimited burger tasting, all event goers were treated to a French-Fry Bar sponsored by The Historic Downtowner and live music from Smokin’ J’s Poker Night.

A team of restaurant industry judges awarded the custom Riverwalk Burger Battle™ trophy and guests will also select a Fan Favorite with their Burger Battle Chip.

After much deliberation, the winners are:

Best Burger Joint – Burger Craze
Best Bar & Grill – Metro Diner
Best Knife & Fork – JWB Prime Steak & Seafood
Fan Favorite – ROK BRGR
Best Burger – ROK BRGR
