Happening People: Local Woman Named to “Top Wealth Adviser Moms” List

Rachel Barzilay, CAP®, CFP®, CRPC®, Managing Director, Wealth Management Advisor and Senior Portfolio Manager with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in Boca Raton, was recently named to Working Mother/SHOOK Research’s “Top Wealth Adviser Moms” list. A Boca Raton resident, Barzilay earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in finance from the University of Florida, where she was a dean’s list graduate. She and her husband welcomed their first child over the summer, a daughter.


Barzilay is a partner in the Barzilay Group, where she works alongside her father Arthur Barzilay, who has been with Merrill Lynch for more than 35 years. She joined Merrill Lynch in 2008 and focuses on advising clients about municipal bonds, retirement and estate planning services, education savings accounts, philanthropic trusts and foundations as well as corporate lending through access to Bank of America, N.A. In addition to the Working Mother list, in 2017 Barzilay has also been recognized on Forbes’ inaugural “America’s Top Next Generation Wealth Advisors” list; Forbes’ inaugural “America’s Top Women Wealth Advisors” list; on the annual Barron’s Top 1,200 Financial Advisors list; and on On Wall Street’s 40 Under 40 list.


For Working Mother/SHOOK Research’s “Top Wealth Adviser Moms” list, SHOOK™ Research considered Wealth Advisors who are mothers with children living at home and under the age of 18. SHOOK examined both qualitative and quantitative information derived from telephone and in-person interviews and surveys, including investing process, client retention, industry experience, review of compliance records and assets under management, revenue generated for their firms, and more.
