On June 1, we mark the official start of the 2017 hurricane season.

Even when there are no storms “lurking”, Floridians should always be prepared for a hurricane or tropical storm.

Hurricane season runs June 1 until the end of November. Statistically, mid August through October is the most active time for storms to form. Florida is, by far, one of the more susceptible states to take a direct hit from a storm.

Recently South Florida has dealt with the effects of Tropical Storm Emily. This week, there are a few areas of concern.
