We here at Palm Beach Happening are happy to introduce the meteorologist who will be bringing you the #WeatherWednesday forecast, as well as keeping us up to date on major events affecting our daily lives in the Palm Beaches.
Hello sunny south Florida! There is nothing better than the Florida sunshine, which is why I couldn’t stray far from home for long. I was born and raised in Broward County and recently moved back after working in South Carolina for two and a half years.
My love for weather began at a young age. My dad and I used to collect hail during thunderstorms and keep it in our freezer. While I slept through Hurricane Andrew, I tracked all of Hurricane Wilma, from start to finish, when I was in high school. I was always one to keep my eye to the sky and I want to share my love of weather with everyone!
I received my Bachelors of Science Degree in Geography from the University of Florida (Go Gators) along with my Meteorology Certificate. I also have my Masters Degree in Meteorology from Mississippi State University. Prior to joining the StormTrac Weather Team at CBS 12, I was working in Columbia, South Carolina. While there, I led our team’s weather coverage of Tropical Storm Hermine and Hurricane Matthew. I also tracked 100 degree heat and single digit wind chills. If you think it gets hot down here in the summer, take a trip up to South Carolina.
When not at work, you will likely find me working out or trying different recipes in the kitchen. I get cold in the air conditioning and can solve a Rubik’s cube.
I am so happy that I am back home in the Sunshine State and I look forward to sharing my love of weather with all of you!
