Featured works include soprano and alto arias from Bach Cantatas 35, 36, 45, 132, 147, 210, 214, and 243; soprano and alto duets from Cantatas 78 and 93; organ works based on the chorale “Wer nur den lieben Gott läßt walten,” and Trio Sonata in G Major, BWV 1038.

“South Florida has a number of highly qualified period instrument performers and singers who specialize in baroque music,” says Dr. Paul Cienniwa. “This program brings together these musicians in a performance of some truly excellent Bach arias. Most of the arias on the program are known as “obligato” arias, in which one solo instrument is featured along with the voice. From solo flute, to solo violin, to solo organ, these arias show us the diversity of Bach’s vocal and instrumental writing–all while highlighting our two extraordinary vocal soloists.”
