Palm Beach County Featured in 2018 Florida Association of Counties Statewide Calendar

Tranquil ocean waters shimmering beneath the Lake Worth Pier will be the featured photo for the month of June in the 2018 Florida Association of Counties’ (FAC) statewide calendar. The shot was taken by Cathy Stewart, an executive assistant with the Palm Beach County Engineering & Public Works Department.

“As a regular visitor to Lake Worth Beach on a hot summer weekend, the water was exceptionally calm,” Stewart said. “The water under the pier challenged me to capture the turquoise color. As an amateur photographer, I am honored that my picture was chosen.”

This year’s calendar theme, “Bodies of Water” was chosen by FAC members in July and a statewide photo submission contest was held until mid-September. All of Florida’s 67 counties were asked to submit their best photos of bodies of water in their county, and more than 600 photos were submitted. Only 15 were selected for the 2018 FAC calendar.
