CITY OF WEST PALM BEACH – August is the final month of the city’s Summer in paradise celebration. Additional highlights planned during this summer of fun include rockin’ free community events in Northwood Village including Art Night Out, Art Walk and monthly food truck events.

LIGHTHOUSE ARTCENTER – Summer ArtCamp, June 6 – August 12. One week sessions run throughout the summer. Call 561.746.3101. Museum hours are M-F 10am-4pm, Sat 10am-2pm, Closed on Sundays. Members are free, non-members are $5. Volunteer opportunities available. Visit

MOUNTS BOTANICAL GARDEN -The Friends of Mounts Botanical Garden will be hosting nine informative and family friendly public events in August and September, including four gardening workshops and the always popular, two-day Everything Orchids: A Shady Affair Plant Sale.
SANDOWAY DISCOVERY CENTER – Who needs Shark Week when you can spend an entire month with some of the most interesting fish in  the sea! Learn more about these amazing creatures throughout the month of August at the Sandoway House.
SUGAR SAND PARK – Sugar Sand Park features the Community Center, which houses the Children’s Science Explorium and the Willow Theatre; and the Field House, which features an indoor gymnasium. Developed by the Greater Boca Raton Beach & Park District and operated by the City of Boca Raton, this 132-acre park continues its commitment to enhance the role of recreation and culture for residents and visitors alike.
SOUTH FLORIDA SCIENCE CENTER AND AQUARIUM – The South Florida Science Center, located at 4801 Dreher Trail North; West Palm Beach, FL 33405, has a summer full of fun lined up for everyone.  Admission to the Science Center during Grossology is: $15 for adults, $11 for children ages 3 to 12 and $13 for seniors aged 60 and older.  Science Center members and children under 3 are free.  Planetarium shows are not included in general admission pricing.
