On Friday, March 18, 2016, Palm Beach Opera Board of Directors, Board of Governors, as well as dedicated supporters and friends gathered at the Kravis Center for Performing Arts for the Opening Night Dinner and opera performance of Ariadne auf Naxos by Richard Strauss. The evening ended with a lively post-performance cast party and reception.
Guests were welcomed by Palm Beach Opera’s Chairman of the Board, Dennis Williams, and General Director, Daniel Biaggi. Stage Director, Daniel Witzke and Conductor, Andreas Delfs joined attendees at the opening night festivities.
Ariadne auf Naxos enjoyed rave reviews as Palm Beach Opera concluded its 54th season of extraordinary, world-class productions. David M. Rice from Classical Source described Ariadne auf Naxos as featuring “…an exceptionally strong cast that sang and acted brilliantly under Daniel Witzke’s able direction while Andreas Delfs led a luminous account of the score”. Lawrence Budmen from South Florida Classical Review wrote, “A splendid cast that was equal to the score’s formidable challenges, masterful conducting and near-ideal production made this an operatic evening to savor.”

Palm Beach Opera recently announced its 2017 Season and the repertoire of opera favorites includes: Giacomo Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, Giuseppe Verdi’s Rigoletto and rounding out the season will be Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance.
