Poems with Purpose

Holly DressON NOT Holly DressOFF, author of #30DifferentMicrophonesIn30days, as well as the founder of the #PauseReflectMoveForward movement,  brings us the eleventh edition of our continuing series, “Poetry with Purpose.

How do you stop being scared?

Scared of the future?

Scared of the past?

Scared of the present?

Have you asked yourself why?

Are you ignoring your answers?

The truth of the matter is

You have the answers you are looking for

Maybe look somewhere you’ve never looked before

Try looking in the mirror

You’ll see yourSELF clearer

Draw nearer

To you

It’s important

To know where you’ve been

To know where you are

To know where you are going

You can’t continue your life not knowing

I know going

Through this?

May tear you to pieces

I’m telling you it is better than

Sharing the sad story with your nieces

That you gave up?

You didn’t continue

You remained the same

And looked at everyone else to blame

Take ownership

Of your life

Don’t spend your life in strife

So, what word of encouragement means something special to you? Let us know, and you might be featured in a future post!
