Tonight, the South Florida Fair (9067 Southern Blvd., West Palm Beach) opens with its annual Ride-A-Thon, which starts at 5 p.m. Most rides, games and food vendors will be open.
The complete fair, with all of its attractions, displays and shopping areas, begins with opening ceremonies at 11:15 a.m. tomorrow, Jan. 12, in Expo West.
- Attend the fair’s opening ceremony for free admission – Those who attend the fair’s opening ceremony will be admitted free but guests should plan to arrive early as seating is limited.
- Guests who use an advance admission ticket on the fair’s opening day will receive one free admission ticket to return another day, Jan. 13-28, compliments of Publix.
- Adult admission, 12 and older – $15
- Child’s admission, under 12 – $8 gate (5 years and younger are free)
- 60 and older – $9
General parking is free. Preferred parking: $10 weekdays, $20 – weekends

The fair also has set up a radio station —1690 AM — with a broadcast radius of about three miles to provide traffic, parking and scheduling information for people coming to the fair. The message will change at least once daily, depending on the need or situation.
