Christmas has just passed, and the New Year is only days away. For South Floridians, that can mean only one thing; the fair is coming soon!
Fans of the South Florida Fair can save money now on advance tickets by going into any Palm Beach County Publix supermarket, Bud’s Chicken & Seafood, Palm Beach County TD Bank branches and Palm Beach County BB&T Bank branches. The savings add up, especially for families. Adult admission, 12 and older, is $10 in advance, $15 at the gate. A child’s admission, under 12, is $5 in advance, $8 at the gate (5 years and younger are free). Those who are 60 years of age and older pay $7 in advance and $9 at the gate.
The theme of the 2016 South Florida Fair, which will be held at the fairgrounds on Southern Boulevard from Jan. 15-31, is Discover the Palm Beaches, powered by FPL. Many fair goers love to attend the annual event to enjoy unique fair food and more than 200 carnival rides. They also get treated to four stages of music and entertainment, daily world class ice skating performances, an award-winning agriculture and livestock program that features more than 1,000 exhibitors from more than 30 Florida counties, and an historic Yesteryear Village.
In keeping with the theme, representatives from the county’s top attractions will greet guests and enlighten them about the area’s best places to play, stay, shop, and dine. A visit to the “Olympusat Theater of The Palm Beaches” will give visitors a chance to experience the beauty that exists locally and all the reasons why The Palm Beaches is the best way to experience Florida.
Building 1 will feature The Palm Beach International Airport Lounge and Municipalities’ Showcase, where all Palm Beach County’s cities, towns and villages will display and describe their best offerings. In Building 5, the Community Creative Crafts & Skills Pavilion, the skills of Palm Beach County residents will be showcased, as they display their flip-flop art, sand sculptures, palm frond creations, underwater photography and more. One lucky fair guest will win a grand prize package that will include 365 (+1 for leap year) things to do in The Palm Beaches — a prize a day for an entire year! Main stage entertainment has yet to be announced and additional details will be released as the fair draws closer to its opening.
