Scout Days, which turns the “World Center of Racing’s” infield into a unique camping retreat, will return to Daytona International Speedway on Jan. 5-7 for the Roar Before The Rolex 24, the three-day annual test session for the Rolex 24 At Daytona weekend.
Boy and Girl Scouts from throughout the Southeast will participate in activities such as fishing on Lake Lloyd (campers must bring their own fishing reels), scavenger hunts, geocaching, movie night and getting up close to the teams and drivers from the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge as they test their cars on the 3.56-mile road course in preparation for their grueling and challenging season-opening events.
In addition, for the first time in event history, a race has been added to the Roar Before the Rolex 24 schedule – the season-opening race for the IMSA Prototype Challenge.
Girl Scouts will once again have a dedicated camping area and can participate in special question-and-answer sessions and tours with female drivers, engineers and mechanics.
