#TastyThursday – Healthy Cooking with Chef Zelicious

Like it or not, we live in an increasingly health conscious world. However, being bombarded with advertisements for fast food, unhealthy snacks, and sugary drinks make eating, and living, healthy more difficult than ever.

Thankfully, there are ways to enjoy foods that not only taste good, but are good for you!

Starting this week, Chef Zainab Fisher, professional chef who specializes in raw and vegan/vegetarian cuisine, will be bringing us a few simple recipes that will make us not only healthier, but happier as well.

4 ripped avocados

1 cup cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon pumpkin spice

1 Tablespoon coconut oil

1/2 cup agave

1/2 cup coconut milk

1/2 teaspoon rosewater

 

Put all the ingredients in a vita-mix and mixed into a cream.

Vegan Hummus 

1 cup of sprouted chickpeas

2 garlic cloves

1 lime

1 tablespoon of tahini butter

1/2 teaspoon of cumin seeds

1 tablespoon of olive oil

1/2 cup of water

Salt and pepper to taste

 

Put all ingredients in a food processor and blend to your preference.  Put in a mason jar. Hummus can be refrigerated for a week.
