#TerrifyingTuesday – Darkness amps up the fear at Enigma Haunt

On Friday the 13th, hundreds gathered at the 5th Annual Enigma Haunt Halfway to Halloween Party. Held at Nippers Bar in Boca Raton, the event featured its highly-anticipated costume contest, some unforgettable karaoke and several prizes along with up close meet and greets with Enigma Haunt monsters and iconic characters.

The drinks were flowing, and food was cooking at Nippers, which if you haven’t been to, what are you waiting for?

The highlight of the night was the (soon to be) world famous Enigma Haunt Lights Out Experience.

“Last season’s Lights Out sold out and we had so many requests to bring it back,” said Billy Groeneveld, owner and co-creator of Enigma Haunt with his wife Karen. “This is a chance to come if you missed it or return for a very scary Friday the 13th. We are limiting it again so show up early and get your tickets.”

Lights Out features the entire haunted attraction in total darkness with creatures stalking every move for those daring enough to enter. Each guest must be 18 years or older with a valid State ID or passport and will need to sign a waiver prior to entering. They will be provided with one glow stick per group as their only source of light. Phones and other light sources are prohibited. Then, it’s time to put other senses to work as guests will hear and surely feel the breath of monsters shadowing their every move, ready to thrill for a frightful experience.

We highly recommend a trip through the Lights Out, as well as “traditional” haunt to get the full effect. Some people, whose fear of the dark gets the better of them, might be more afraid in the Lights Out experience, but for this reporter, the traditional haunt provides more detailed scares and a better chance to see how much work goes into make-up and set design.
