The Top Drinks in the “World”

If you are anything like us, you have come to appreciate the fact that Walt Disney World is a paradise for lover’s of adult beverages. Epcot, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios each feature numerous restaurants, bars, and walk up kiosks where you can quench your thirst at virtually all hours of the day and night.

This #ThirstyThursday, we are happy to bring you some of our favorites from the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, as well as a few other beverages you might want to check out on your next adventure to the wonderful world of Disney.

Frozen Lemonade with Firefly Blackberry Moonshine – This frozen beverage, found at the Smokehouse outside the American Adventure, consists of simply lemonade mixed with the signature moonshine of Epcot, and it tastes like lemonade and blueberries. Very simple, but a good way to cool off from the inside out!

La Vie en Rose Frozen Slush – Grey Goose Vodka, L’Orange, St. Germain Liquer, White and Red Cranberry Juice combine to transport your palate to the gardens of France, where it is found at the Fleur de Lys booth. This one seemed to be the strongest of our frozen journey through the festival (in case you didn’t sense the theme) but it was definitely a great drink.

Kung Fu Punch – Found in the halls of the Lotus House in the China pavillion of Epcot’s World Showcase, this vodka, triple sec, mango and orange juice cocktail has enough of a punch to keep you going, but is smooth enough to enjoy anytime throughout the day. Again, this is a Flower and Garden feature, but we believe you can find it anytime throughout the year.

Rum Blossum – We’re all heard of the Night Blossum, which was the highlight of Pandora, the World of Avatar when it first opened in 2017. Now, the food service people at WDW have realized that everything is better with rum, and have enhanced the frozen mixture of limeaid, pear, and apple with Bacardi Silver and, of course, topped it all off with passion fruit boba balls. This juice is EyWa approved, and can improve your “spirits” any time of the day or night!

Florida Crush – Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Muddled with Orange and Strawberries, A Splash of Fresh Squeezed Florida Orange Juice, Agave Syrup make this cocktail at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ a must try. It has fruit in it, so it must be healthy, right?

Sweet Tea Shine – Anyone born in the South knows that sweet tea is the only real iced tea. This cocktail, made up of Sweet Tea, Fresh-Squeezed Lemon, and Moonshine almost makes you forget you’re drinking hard liquor, which can be dangerous. Especially considering they serve the drink in a 22 ounce refillable squeeze bottle!

Blueberry Lemonade – This sounds simple enough, right? As the best selling drink at the Boathouse, this concoction of Stoli Blueberry, Deep Eddy Lemon Vodka, Homemade Lemonade, and Fresh Blueberries soothes your soul, and provides a great refreshing drink after a hot day.

Frozen Desert Violet Lemonade – Found at the Pineapple Promenade booth in Showcase Plaza, this specialty beverage has been a favorite at the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival for a few years now. It’s purple color might frighten some, but the smooth texture, cold temperature and cute little edible flower makes it a hit, especially during the hot Central Florida days. It can be found until May 28, but it might be worth a trip to the festival just to try it!

Coca Cola Freestyle Machine in the DVC Lounge – Did you know that there was a room above the Journey into Imagination with Figment attraction where you can get not only all you can drink Coke products, but K-Cup coffee and snacks as well? Open to DVC members and their guests, this escape from the Florida weather provides commanding views of the park, as well as a respite from theme parks in general. Be sure to check out our piece on this and other VIP areas inside Walt Disney World.

Club Cool – Most of you have probably watched one of the many Beverly videos on YouTube, but aside from that one off putting flavor, this small but popular drink stand allows visitors to taste some of the offerings that the Coca Cola company highlights around the globe.

  • Italy – Beverly — Drinking an aperitif before dinner to stimulate the appetite is a traditional part of Italian refreshment culture. Beverly, with its bitter flavor, is a popular non-alcoholic aperitif.
  • Greece – Fanta Pineapple — Fanta has 90 disctinct flavors around the world. This one caffeine-free and features a sweet piineapple taste.
  • Thailand – Fanta Melon Frosty — Fanta is the number one soft drink in Thailand!
  • Japan – Vegitabeta — The Japanese have long recognized the importance of beverages for both nutrition and health benefits. In modern Japan, this interest in healthy consumption finds its ultimate expression in “health” vending machines that dispense vitamin drinks like Vegitabeta.
  • South Africa – Bilbo — fruit flavored lime juice featuring charactres like Johnny Orange, Taka Strawberry and Paolo Peach.
  • Zimbabwe – Sparberry – raspberry flavored cream soda
  • Peru – Inca Kola — The taste of Peru has an unusually sweet fruity flavor some say is liquid bubblegum.
  • Brazil – Gurana Kuat — guarana berry flavored soft drink.
