A revolutionary water theme park has risen at Universal Orlando Resort. The recent opening of Universal’s Volcano Bay marks the next chapter in the award-winning vacation destination’s evolution. An all-encompassing, three-park destination, Universal Orlando continues to create authentic, next-level guest experiences in a way that no one else can.
Universal Orlando is part of the NBCUniversal Comcast family, which has invested significantly in the destination’s unprecedented growth. In just seven years, 25 new experiences – entire themed areas, attractions, restaurants, and hotels – have been added across the destination.
And there’s even more on the way. This growth will continue through 2017 and beyond, with the now open expansion of the retro-themed Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort, a new action-packed ride experience based on The Fast & Furious, one of the most popular film franchises of all time, and the destination’s sixth on-site hotel, Universal’s Aventura Hotel.
Universal’s Volcano Bay – Now Open
Spanning 25 fully immersive acres, Volcano Bay is a next-level water theme park. It combines spectacular storytelling and incredible guest experiences with innovative technology exclusively designed for the park, giving visitors a fun-filled, hassle-free experience.
With more than 30 experiences including 18 unique attractions, Volcano Bay has something for everyone – from perfected relaxation to incredible thrills. With the 200-feet Krakatau volcano as the iconic centerpiece, guests can enjoy a multi-directional wave pool with sandy beaches, a peaceful winding river, twisting multi-rider raft rides, speeding body slides that drop from the top of the volcano into the waters below, and more.
And with the waterproof TapuTapu wearable – included with park admission – guests now have more time to enjoy everything the water theme park has to offer. TapuTapu allows guests to virtually wait in line for rides while they explore other areas of the park. Guests can also enjoy interactive TapTu Play experiences, triggering special effects like streams of water spurting from whales in Tot Tiki Reef and illuminating the hidden caves inside the volcano. Additional features of the TapuTapu wearable include the ability to make purchases and access lockers with just a simple tap.
Announced today, Fast & Furious – Supercharged will debut in the spring of 2018 in Universal Studios Florida. The action-packed ride will take guests on a high-octane journey that fuses an original storyline, incredible ride technology, popular characters, exhilarating environments, nonstop action and, of course, high-speed cars. Guests will feel like part of the Fast & Furious family as they join Dom Toretto, Hobbs, Letty and Roman on a thrilling new Fast & Furious journey.
NEW!: The attraction will also feature the Virtual Line experience, allowing guests to select a time to ride in advance so they can spend less time waiting in line and more time discovering other incredible thrills throughout Universal Studios Florida. The Virtual Line system will be accessible via the Official Universal Orlando Resort App or at kiosks located outside the attraction entrance.
Universal’s Aventura Hotel & Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort
Debuting in August 2018, Universal’s Aventura Hotel will offer tech-savvy accommodations, including in-room tablets that control many of the rooms’ features like the TV, room temperature controls, and more. Additional tech features throughout the hotel will include a virtual reality game room and dive-in movie experience with an underwater speaker system in the hotel’s resort-style pool. More high-tech amenities available at Universal’s Aventura Hotel will be revealed soon.
Universal’s Aventura Hotel will let guests enjoy a fresh and fun way to stay that’s both modern and vibrant. Reservations are now being accepted for stays beginning August 1, 2018, with rates starting as low as $97 per night for a seven-night stay and $116 per night for a four-night stay.
Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort was recently expanded, adding two new towers to the incredibly successful retro-themed hotel. Featuring 380 standard rooms and 20 all-new two-bedroom suites that sleep up to eight, select rooms offer stunning views of the new water theme park, Volcano Bay.
There’s no better way for guests to experience all the thrills, excitement and relaxation that Universal Orlando has to offer than by staying on-site. Guests will enjoy exclusive benefits like Early Park Admission and are just steps or a quick, complimentary shuttle ride away from all three theme parks – Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Universal’s Volcano Bay – as well as Universal CityWalk, the destination’s nighttime dining and entertainment complex.
