The MPO study of potential improvements for pedestrians, cyclists and Palm Tran service along a 42-mile stretch of US-1 began in May. The study area extends from Boca Raton’s Camino Real to Jupiter’s Indiantown Road.
The Saturday workshop will include an introductory presentation, a walking tour to audit existing facilities and needs, followed by group discussions on observed problems and potential solutions. Free refreshments and lunch will be provided.
The workshop will be followed by a three-day open house design studio charrette where local residents, business owners and officials can stop by to provide input and review planning progress.
The purpose is to develop a comprehensive plan to implement continuous multimodal facilities that connect communities along the corridor, including upgraded Palm Tran bus service.
