US-1 Corridor Study Continues with August 26 Workshop in West Palm Beach

A Saturday, Aug. 26 public workshop in West Palm Beach will include an introductory presentation, a walking tour to audit existing facilities and needs along US-1 in the City, followed by group discussions on observed problems and potential solutions. Free refreshments and lunch will be provided.

The workshop kicks off the fourth study section of a 42-mile stretch of US-1 from Boca Raton’s Camino Real to Jupiter’s Indiantown Road. The MPO is seeking public input for improvements for pedestrians, bicyclists and Palm Tran bus riders.

The workshop will be followed by a three-day open house design studio charrette where local residents, business owners and officials can stop by to provide input and review planning progress, and attend a closing presentation.

The MPO will develop a comprehensive plan to implement continuous multimodal facilities that connect communities along the US-1 corridor, including upgraded Palm Tran bus service.
