The St. Regis Princeville Resort Debuts Exclusive Movie Set Tour and Experience
The St. Regis Princeville Resort has designed an exclusive day tour offering a glimpse of some of the Garden Island’s most famous Hollywood filming locations. Angela Tillson, one of the island’s most prolific film location managers, guides guests on an in depth and interactive private tour experience that begins at Kipu Ranch for a private All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) tour visiting its historic landscapes and movie locations where Raiders of the Lost Ark, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and The Descendants were filmed. Haku Lei Making Workshops Now Offered at Sheraton Kauai Resort
Guests at Sheraton Kauai Resort are invited to learn the art of lei making and create their own lei poo (head lei). Heiva I Kauai 2018, August 4, 5
Heiva I Kauai is a colorful two-day Tahitian cultural festival, presented annually on the first weekend of August, featuring competitions for children and adults – ages 4 to 50-plus – in solo Tahitian dancing, and group competition in traditional and contemporary Tahitian dancing and drumming. Other popular events include the festival’s Tahitian dance audience-participation segment and coconut-husking contests. The 17th annual Heiva I Kauai happens August 4 and 5, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Kapaa Beach Park. Entry is $7 per person, per day, with children ages 12 and under admitted free. 10th Annual Kauai Marathon and Half Marathon, September 2
The 10th annual Kauai Marathon and Half Marathon sends participants on a USA Track and Field-certified course taking them past hula dancers and taiko drum troupes as it traces the scenic landscape of the island’s south shore. Along the way, participants take in magnificent views of the area’s picturesque beaches and tropical rainforests. Runners completing the course do so at one of the most beautiful oceanfront finish lines in road racing.
