The 6th annual Back to School Splash event at Sugar Sand Park Community Center is the perfect way to wave goodbye to summer and slide into the new school year. On Saturday, August 12th, families can enjoy water slides, a field of bubbles, make & takes, giveaways, music and more at this free outdoor event, which runs from 10am to 1pm.
Kids get unlimited access to three different large water slides, ranging from 20 to 30 feet high, and up to 60 feet long. Make and takes include spray bottle painting and a marble tile craft. In addition, there will be an area for kids ages 5 and under with a separate water slide and additional activities such as tabletop water toys and a toddler fishing game. Concessions will be available for purchase from Bobby G’s Drivin’ Diner, Joji’s Frozen Yogurt and Tiki’s Shaved Ice food trucks.
“This event is a great way to celebrate the end of the summer vacation and get ready for the start of the school year with your family and friends,” states Stacee Lanz, Special Events Coordinator. “Parents also get a sneak peek at our fall programs and shows, so they can plan early for all the great activities we have coming up,” Lanz said.
Back to School Splash is recommended for kids ages 3 and up, and is weather permitting. Guests should remember sunscreen, bug spray, bottled water, towels, hats, and a change of dry clothes if planning to visit the indoor Children’s Science Explorium or spend time inside the Community Center.
This event is sponsored in part by South Florida Parenting Magazine and Habitat for Humanity ReStore (South Palm Beach County).
