Another hot Weather Wednesday in store across south Florida.
We’re starting off the day with mostly sunny skies, with just a few small showers around. As the afternoon goes on, a few thunderstorms could develop but mostly for our inland locations.
Our next weather maker will bring us a much higher chance of thunderstorms as we head into Thursday and Friday afternoons. We’ll start off each morning dry, but we will see more storms developing during the afternoon hours, some of which could produce frequent lightning and very heavy downpours. Small hail can’t ruled out either. High temperatures will stay near 90 degrees.
This pattern will continue into Saturday and Sunday, before drier air moves in to bring rain chances back down Monday and Tuesday.
Tropics Update: Hurricane Lane is a strong Category 4 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 155mph, located about 300 miles south of the Hawaiian Islands. The storm will soon hook to the north and pass just west of the island chain. While the eye is not expected to make landfall, the area will still experience hurricane force winds towards the end of the week. Lane will likely weaken over the next few days.
