The Whitehall Society hosts Mixing It Up

On Friday, April 27, the Flagler Museum will host  Mixing It Up, the Whitehall Society’s seasonal cocktail party and fundraising event, beginning at 6:30 pm in the Lake Room. Swathed in deep red and softened by delicate florals, the Lake Room is the perfect setting to host friends and watch art come to life. Mixing It Up is your last chance to ‘have a Gigl’ celebrating Masterfully Human: The Art of Gaugengigl. The exhibition will be open for viewing during the party. Guests will be treated to a variety of hors d’oeuvres and exhibition-inspired cocktails and specialty drinks. Around the party, enjoy the live music of a Parisian jazz ensemble and watch in awe as the festivities are painted in real time by a live artist. Cocktail-themed items will be on display for purchase at a Museum Pop-Up Store.
Tickets are free for current Whitehall Society Members, $40 each for Flagler Museum Members, and $50 each for non-members.

The Whitehall Society’s purpose is to cultivate the support and patronage of a new generation of residents of the Palm Beach area who have an interest in arts and culture, history, architecture, and the preservation of Whitehall. Funds raised support children’s educational programs.

Masterfully Human: The Art of Gaugengigl surveys the work of Boston painter and etcher Ignaz Marcel Gaugengigl (1855-1932), in the first museum exhibition devoted to this Gilded Age artist. The Bavarian-born Gaugengigl created beautifully painted depictions of everyday life, often set in revolutionary-era France, that convey timeless themes such as honor, friendship, love, and beauty. His intimate and evocative works were sought after by Boston area collectors.
