The Willow Theatre’s new fall season brings inspired shows and one-of-a-kind musical experiences like no other for our South Florida audiences. Featuring premiere stage productions and colorful feasts for the ears and eyes, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
On the Mainstage, The Playgroup, LLC opens the season with the gripping historical courtroom drama Broken Angels (Nov 3-12). The smash Broadway hit It’s Only A Play, by Curtain Call Playhouse, pokes fun at a stage show’s opening night (Dec 1-10). And in January, Black Box Booking tells the story of Judy Garland’s famous 1961 concert at Carnegie Hall in Garland, In Word And Song (Mar 16-19).
For the family, Atlantic Coast Theatre for Youth brings the classic Hans Christian Andersen tale The Snow Queen to life on December 23. It’s all about canines on December 27 with Johnny Peers’ hilarious dog circus show Muttville Comix. And acclaimed group Japan Arts is back at the Willow Theatre for their Japanese drum show Fushu Daiko on January 6.
New this year, enjoy a weekend of music and dance as the Sugar Sand Park Community Center and the Willow Theatre present Dias De Ritmo. On November 18, Flamenco Puro Dance Company presents Flamenco: Steps Through Time, a journey through the ancestry and evolution of the flamenco. The following afternoon (Nov 19), enjoy Blue Funk Productions, Orquesta Nostalgia, a 14-piece jazz band performing Latin jazz big-band favorites from the 50s and 60s. Tickets may be purchased for both shows (in one transaction) for a special discounted price.
