Poems with Purpose

We’re excited to announce a new partnership with Holly DressON NOT Holly DressOFF, author of #30DifferentMicrophonesIn30days, as well as the founder of the #PauseReflectMoveForward movement, who will be bringing us “Poetry with a Purpose Fridays.”

Today, we are happy to bring you the first poem in the series, entitled “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!” The suggestion came from Larry Oldham of Memphis, Tennessee.

Life in a word is supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

As people we tend to complicate it

With overthinking and feelings of lack

Doing this

Can lead to a heart attack

Life is meant for growth

People don’t come with a remote

We cannot fast forward

We cannot rewind

We have to get out of our minds

We tend to think of the wrong

Not the good

Because it is easier

The easy way isn’t always the right way

Challenge yourSELF

To be only you which is who you are supposed to be

Maybe you heard this word in a movie

It actually exists

And so do you

No matter what it is you are going through

Deserve you

And to go live

Don’t disappoint yourSELF

So, what word of encouragement means something special to you? Let us know, and you might be featured in a future post!
