Hurricane Michael has made landfall near Mexico Beach, FL as a powerful category 4 hurricane with 155mph winds. A category 4 hurricane has never made landfall in the Panhandle, the last storm to make landfall in the Panhandle was Hurricane Hermine back in 2016, as a category 1 storm.

Locally we’ve been feeling some of the impacts all week, and we will continue to do so today. We’ll see gusty SSE winds at 15mph, with partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies. Scattered showers will still be possible through the rest of the afternoon with temperatures in the upper 80s.

Tomorrow and Friday will continue to bring us partly cloudy skies with a few scattered showers and the possibility of one or two thunderstorms. Temperatures will remain in the upper 80s for the rest of the week.

Slightly drier air will move in as we head towards the weekend and into the beginning of next week, with temperatures staying near the upper 80s each day.
